Fast & Sneaky Balanced Tournament

Let's go for a tournament on the fantastic Fast & Sneaky Balanced scenario based on the awesome Meeting Engagement map.

I'll experiment with a group tournament system allowing more players to join without making the total number of games for each player going ballistic. Check out the system attached. I'm looking for a total of 8 players as a starting point. In case of overwhelming interest we can go with 10 or even 12 but that just means a bigger elimination in the groups as the finals games will stay as outlined in order to reach the finals fairly quickly.

Rules in short:

1) Each player plays the assigned opponent twice - as Allies as well as Germans.
2) The two best players from each group advance to the semi-finals. Victory is 1 point - defeat is 0.
3) In case of a tie individual results are first. Second one final battle is played with random allocation of sides (Germans / Allies).
4) Please be ready to play at least five turns per week or notify your opponent in case of interruptions.
5) Starting groups are set by random.
6) Any situation not covered in 1-5 will be called by me exclusively 8)

Ok, that's it. I have noted the following pre-bookings already:

Articpost
kingt
dickesKind
Monsoeren

Still four slots open guys.

While I disagree that the Fast and Sneaky map is awesome,..since I think it has many many flaws,....I would like to join all the same.
I like the idea of a laddered tournament. Very Nice!

I just hope kingt isn't joining,...oh dang it,...too late. ;) (you know I say that jokingly and with much respect kingt)

Of course I am still in! :D

Gort... what are the flaws you mentioned? I would't say that this map is awesome too. But are least there is a lot of space and the way you attack is not "dictated".

Greetings...

Good to have you onboard Gort. I'm quite surprised about your evaluation of this map. The only minor issue I noticed myself is that the starting locations of notably the German forces are quite sporadic. This can make it a task of itself just to get a proper company type unit assembled but is not really a major issue. What else have you noticed?

There is simply too many turns......I won't say the others since I might give away state secrets used in battle. :) :)

Lol, right back at you, definitely enjoy our battles.

As for the map, it deviates from BA standards, but the good thing about it is that it's never the same in terms of starting units and positions. An alternative would always be ME Redux.

We still need one more commander before we can start the group battles. Anyone?

Ok Gentlemen (Ladies?), let the tournament begin.

The map is Fast & Sneaky Balanced and you find your groups below. Each player plays an initial number of six games against the three others in the same group. Three as Allies and three as Germans. Please post in here upon game startup and finish in order for me to keep track on how the tourney develops.

Have fun :D
