Sound Question

For individual infantry units, their fire sound will play for each individual soldier.

So for a US Rifle Squad, the sound of an M1 Garand will simultaneously play five times. There is no way to space out the sound, so it plays in a really weird staccato-type of way.

Is there any way to mod it so that a squad will only play one .wav file instead of five?

Hmmm. Not really. IIRC the sounds are tied in to the animations. So the only way would be to play different animations on each man.

I will take a look - it's odd that nobody has noticed the issue before. Or perhaps we aren't familiar enough with the sound of an M1 :)

Cheers

All 5 members of the squad are playing the same .wav file at the same time.

Workarounds
1 - Each small arm has three .wav files. Have each squad member randomly play one of the 3 wav's so it at least sounds different
2 - Just have the squad play one .wav so you don't have the echo effect.

I would say #2 or probably a better course of action. #1 might just sound like a jumbled mess.

Any word on a fix or a way we can fix it?
