Hey, now ... stop with this "getting my hopes up" stuff. :) I've been doing my best to put PzC out of my mind until either an iPad or a Mac version happens. In fact, I've been telling myself these versions will probably never get released, because then I won't be disappointed if they do in fact disappear into the dust bin ... and I'll be overjoyed if either or both of them do appear someday.

The date is not remotely accurate but gives a rough indication. I have a version running on my iPad although there is a lot of work left to do :)

Yeah dont know why they havent done a Mac version yet, I know handful of people that would buy PC if they could run it on their Mac.

If I had to guess (and I do have to, because I have no inside info), I'd say that since a lot of the underlying coding may be common for the Mac and iPad versions (because of similar frameworks and such), so at least some of the technical difficulties they have apparently run into with creating the iPad version might be impacting the Mac version as well.

Don't be too hard on them Iain, they are new to diehard 2 year wait for Mac and ipad.

If there is an iPad version, are you looking for iPad testers?

Yes a lot of the coding changes for Mac/iPad are shared and the reason we go for iPad first is that the sales potential is just so much higher than Mac - an order of magnitude or more.

We'll advertise for testers nearer the release!

I am continuing to be patient, but I do have a question, especially given the "iPad first" thing: will the iPad version of PzC be the same full experience as on PC, rather than a cut-down, simplified "console" version? Please, oh please, say "yes". :)

The game content will be identical to the PC version. We are intending that you will be able to play across and between the platforms in the same way as Battle Academy.

Cheers

Pip

The word that comes to mind in response to this is "Hurrah!" :)

Thanks much for the info, and I'll continue looking forward eagerly to PzC on these additional platforms.

Had to buy the PC version just to play again, couldn't wait any longer. i did buy the i42 and 45 but that was realy bad. Kind of like my spelling. Slither you are doing a hard task here keep up the work, I know nothing about programing, so I can't imagine what it takes to get this ready, but my iPad is getting very impacient if it doesent get this game it has threated to crash on me.

Will this be playable on iPod 5? Some games do cross over some don't.

Making slow but steady progress on iPad. We're only targeting the tablets at the moment because the screen space you need and user interface don't really work on the smaller phones and iPod's. We could make it run but in trials of Battle Academy on iPhone it didn't play very well with the small screen and we don't want to release it if we're not happy with the quality.

I thought so, but since 1944, Civil War and North Africa worked on the smaller ones I thought this might Battle Academy workes totaly different, but I would rather you just keep getting the iPod game a possibility.

This is Slitherine's best and worst quality. Slitherine will not put out a product that is a buggy piece of garbage. They put out a quality product and more importantly, they stay with it make sure it stays bug-free and even improve it as it goes along.

The bad part is that making sure you have a quality product on initial release is very time consuming, hence why you have very long release dates/schedules. I don't know about everyone else, but I think it's worth the wait. There is nothing worse than shelling out $100.00 for a game and expansions and not make it past the loading screen.

I agree. Many of the larger games producers put out buggy products that need patches just to get the bugs out. Slitherine's patches actually add things to a game.

You are right jayman, I have the iPad that wasn't to be made so the Battle Academy play's a little funcky with the terrain on mine when it scrolls. I would rather a complete game in great working condition, but I still want it now, but my lap top gives me my fix. I just have to wait to get the MEGA PACK. I was just thinking that with the way the terrain was since it seems more stable and movement this might happen down the line sometime.

Release Date changed from "15/07/13" to "TBD". Does that mean that it will come sooner or later? (do not say later  )

For us Americans that would be 7/15/13, just in case.
