Megapack Beta - What are we looking for?

So, as usual, I am very appreciative of being allowed to assist with Beta testing for one of my favorite games.

What are the developers asking us beta testers to look for in the Mega-Pack, given that all of the individual DLCs were beta tested and patched?

That's a good question and now that we've started I'm happy to answer it!

This BETA is unusual from others because you're right, we have already gone through all content during the BETA of each DLC. This means that our main focus now is purely aimed at mechanical issues, or 'does it all work properly'? This includes questions such as importing your CORE. Can you import your CORE from DLC played before you installed the MegaPack... do your CORES save properly went moving from campaign to campaign within the MegaPack, things of this nature need to be tested so that they are flawless. We had no problems running through this ourselves, but it never hurts to have extra eyes looking for potential breaks.

In addition, we injected some updated features into old DLC, and we want to make sure they are also working 100%. We don't expect our testers to play through every single campaign all over again all at once (We take pride in the content, but also realize there is an absolute TON of it to play through) but we would like you to jump around and take a look at it here and there. To help guide you to look for new additions, here is a complete changelog so far, though it is NOT a final one and we do have a few more changes and additions to inject.

Lastly, if there are places or missions you feel would benefit from extra help in the form of pop up messages, let us know. Examples of a few we've added so far can be found in this thread:

Warning changelog contains SPOILERS.

In addition to what Kerensky has said, in this beta package we have included german translation, most of which was never released by us before. This means a lot of new text, which can well have some new issues. There are many players here who play the game in german, and any feedback from them related to translation will be useful.

Core import from DLC39/40/41/42/43/44 East into the megapack beta worked seamlessly. Other savecores i don't have (anymore).
I played and finished DLC 39 (Colonel) from the megapack during the last two days. Some missions in Poland got more challenging, while the Weserübung missions got a lot easier due to the Übergebirgsjäger. I also received the two other "elite" units (Ju87 and Pz38(t)). I leave Norway with 5300PP. I have 2 SE + 27 core units which i have been rotating during the various missions to allow them to reach the max xp cap for this DLC. Got a DV in every mission and encountered no problems when moving to the next scenario.

Megapack DLC 40 scenario Maubeuge.
The city of Tournai at hex (7,5) is a city in Belgium and thus should get the Belgian flag instead of the French flag.

I have played through the campaigns with the victory cheats and found no issues so far.
The hunt for typos goes on, other testers already mentioned the not yet translated parts of the updated German briefing. But so far it's okay.

<- something is wrong when you find nothing broken, makes you feel you didn't look hard enough!

Imported Megapack DLC 39 core into Megapack DLC 40. Played thru the scenarios during the last two days (chose the British path), got DV's every time and moving from one scenario to the next went flawless. The scenarios were as challenging as they were before. I had the impression that in a couple of scenarios the AI had more resources to buy new units.
I found another flag error in the Maginot Line scenario (final scenario). The city of Virton is in Belgium. Ofcourse simply switching the flag to the Belgium one is no option here (Belgium already surrendered). So i suggest either to give it a German flag or to change the citytile into a fortification hex (as in the first scenario in Poland). I will continu playing the scenarios as long as the betatest is actual. And as a bonus I can always keep my saved cores for the live version later on ;). Tomorrow i begin with Megapack DLC41.

Funny, the name of the city in the game is actually Toumai... I'll fix that as well. :)

Hello,

As I told earlier the text message after the marginal victory in Berlin (DLC 1945 East) should be marginal victory and not loss even if the campaign stops here.

Message should be: "Marginal Victory, however this was not sufficient to stop the Soviet Army and Axis had to surrender".
instead of a standard loss message: "Axis surrendered".

I started DLC45 West by importing my core army from DLC East 1944 and it worked perfectly!

Tournai is French, the Dutch name is Doornik, in case you are wondering, some maps may use the Dutch name.

Bug Report - When a unit is selected and you press ESC, to access the game menu, the menu shows up the options seem to be "clickable", but nothing happens. When no unit is selected the game menu works fine.

Hi semper_fidelis, I was intrigued by your report, but I wasn't able to reproduce this error? When I run this beta and press 'Esc' while a unit is selected, I can use the menu without problems. Could you perhaps post a savegame where this happens, so I can try to duplicate it?

What OS are your Sgt ThvN? I'm wondering if this might be it.

I'm running this on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

Oh dear, showing my age now... Windows XP (SP3, latest updates). Does your stock PzC game (1.13) you installed on your system have the same issue? Might be interesting to try, if it behaves differently it could be a problem with this particular beta version, otherwise it might be a more general problem?
