Hi guys,

welcome to the Commander - Europe at War Ladder Competition! This ladder competition is open to anyone that has an account on the forum.

Before you play a multiplayer game you must agree with your opponent that it is going to be a ladder game (however as the ladder has just launched, if you want to switch over to a ladder game before its obvious one side or other is winning then this is possible as long as both players agree). Then you play the game normally. Once complete, decide which player is going to report the result to the forum. Only one player should report the results. The second player must then log in to confirm the results. Once the results are confirmed the ladder will update automatically.

Initially the ladder will only reports wins and loses, but we will be adding a ranking calculation later in the process. The ranking calculation will award more points to lower ranked players for beating higher ranked players and less to the high ranked players, as you would expect.

The ladder itself is still in development but we'll do our best to ensure all results are reported fairly, but in the event of any disgareement Slitherine's decision is final.

You can find the ladder here - http://www.slitherine.com/ladder/ceaw

At the moment the ladder is blank and awaiting the first results to be posted. Who will be the first to post a result!

If you have any questions or problems with the ladder please let us know.

Enjoy!

Ok - I am up for a ladder game, preferrably TCP/IP.

Well I posted a win as allies - opponent resigned. I thought it was a fun game, but he did not. In any case, it was interesting. The Axis made a very bold attack right through the Ardennes on a narrow front very early - late 39. He bypassed Netherlands. However, with stalwart defense I was able to cause enough damage, killing 2 armored corps, that while the French were faltering, it was looking grim long-term for the Axis.

Congrats :)

You need to get your opponent to confirm the result before it will get logged officially.

Iain, It would also be nice if we knew: Axis vs Allies - who won? This will help see if the game is balanced, and also - victory level, which can help get people to play through.

Yes all good ideas. For the moment we are bug fixing the ladder only and new feaures will have to wait until other projects are finished.

I am for PBEM game only. Unfortunately don’t have time for TCP/IP. I said –unfortunately- because PBEM games, to my opinion, takes too long to be finished. My suggestion is that you (or anyone else), and if this is possible, make official scenario with full campaign, with less turns and long turn time period only for ladder PBEM games (no need for AI).

The other important thing that needs to be listed is either "Stock' or the name of the mod played.

With so many variants and mods floating around...

You able to play a game yet, Possum? TCP/IP or just PBEM for you?

Looking for an opponent.
Preferences are: 1939 - fog and oil on - no end date

Looking for players who want to play both sides, so both of us will start an axis turn.
Timewise it wouldn't matter (doing 2 turns instead of 1 won't take much extra time) and it might be fun to see our different strategies.
