Version 0.10.1 Released

  • Removed road, farm, mine, fort pollution.
  • Fixed pacts not terminated for eliminated players.

  • Fixed possibility of allies attacking each other.
  • Fixed not being able to build a city over certain tile improvements.

Old save games will not work.

All of these sound like improvements. Addressing city borders growth and tile ownership is a nice surprise. I was worried that was getting overlooked.

Why? I was rather fond of the old name. "Togra" grinds compared to the old melodic sound.

Eden doesn't really fit to scientific/academic people who don't believe in God. I'm personally not fully happy with the new name though.

GUI and end turn performance performance was improved. Should be drastically better. The save games you guys had where things were timing out and clicks took long, work snappy for me now. Without going into too much details, it wasn't really processing the turn but more how refreshing was done on the client -- city and GUI stuff.

What about Scholars of Illyria or something like that?

I definitely like the "Scholars of ____" format a lot better than "____ University." And I like names with softer sounds for them. Hence me really not liking the new name.

I understand what you mean. "Scholars of" sounds nice and smooth.

But I think "<Name> University" fits more to their theme. They represent academia, Togra is the name of a famous scientist (also Deadlock reference) who obviously, as everyone in academia likes to do, named the University after himself.

I would prefer if another faction, to be added later, has a soft and smooth sound like Scholars of Eden. They could be more religious and follow some very old scriptures which help them unravel the mysteries of the world.

I'd personally also like to avoid any two factions starting with the same letter. But yeah.

The UI is definitely infinitely better. But late game, rather than there being a UI hang while it thinks, now there's just a long delay. You can move the camera around and click things, but it still takes a really long time.

Yeah, that's just AI processing. We have plans to improve it, but I'm not sure when Lorenz will get a chance.

How many seconds are there between your AI processing in PandoraServer.log?

Edit: Took 17 seconds for me.

Should be much better with the new version. Let us know if there are still issues.
