Concatenating replays to review an entire game?

Pip/Iain,

Thanks again for the really cool "Review last turn" button for MP, added to BA v2.0.6. It's great for watching what your enemy is up to, in case we get distracted by our children, wives, GF, boss, pets, fire alarms, new Pope, stockmarket crash, etc...

I'm guessing that BA v2.0.6 holds the data that enables it to replay the last turn somewhere in the saved turn file that gets swapped between players.

Theoretically, is it possible to keep adding "review turn" data for each turn, to build up a movie of the whole battle?

It's possible. It would probably be quite involved to actually make it play through though. I don't think it is on our wishlist for BA2, but I will add it on and we can take a look at it.

Cheers

Pip

That would be really great, with some basic player pause/play/rewind mechanics.

Some control over playback would be really neat... but if that scares you, even a very basic, skip forward a segment (show the replay for the next turn), skip back a segment (replay for the turn before), or replay current segment (turn) would be A+. Ultimately, if you can concatenate the data, then we could share videos of complete battles with each other...

Or for Slith publicity... I wonder what your marketing gurus could do with that? For iPad? ;-)
