My first few hours

Hi everyone!

I just got my invitation to the Beta yesterday. Since then I played about 4-5 hours and I came to discuss how I feel about the game so far.

So all in all, things are looking neat. The atmosphere is already quite immersive for me, and the music and ambient tracks get five stars in helping achieve that. The menu screen is beautiful, and the moving tree is also a good idea. In my opinion a few more screens like that, that would pop up at random in the final game's menu would be a good addition.
The Xenos are neatly done as well. I haven't met a single opponent yet, but the bugs are keeping me entertained well enough.

One problem I came across is the research panel not giving good enough descriptions on what I'm getting at the end. Sometimes I found myself just clicking techs to research at random like it's some nuissance. Also a tech tree would make a lot of difference.

Some other problems:
- Need ability to rename newly designed units in the workshop.
- Coast tiles give 2 food even if they are arctic. I'm pretty sure that wasn't intended.
- Trade goods shouldn't be possible until I have at least two cities. Who am I trading with?
- The same tips pop up in the game every time I load from autosave. There should be a mechanism that disables already seen tips.

You can't rename them in the workshop, but after you build a unit you can rename individual units.

Actually, you can rename them in the workshop too, I guess it's just not obvious enough yet. We'll add an icon so it's more obvious.

OK, found out how. It isn't obvious that is the way to do it.

It's not obvious, but it's clean and convenient once you know how to do it. Maybe just pointing out that you can rename things by clicking on their title in a tutorial popup would do the trick.
