Tactical Map, a totally new way of gaming

Hi, all my friends and PzC players!

Since the great 1.13 update provided us a few new options in modding, it finally achieved a goal I always want to do: a tactical map for PzC.
Since PzC is not designed for this purpose, some features in a typical tactical game (like BA)cannot be achieved. However, it is still interesting to have some tactical maps in PzC. In a long campaign of a Mod, some tactical maps to show more details of the battle could be very cool, also, in these maps, no core units will be involved. It will be like some "awarding maps" in the major campaign.

So, to test this idea, I made a testing map, the setting is in the Battle of Kursk, a Russian armored company try to capture a small town occupied by Germany.

I list some features in this "TACTICAL MAP"
1.Strength of each unit is based on how many people/vehicle/gun the squad has. For example, the strength of a scout squad will be 4, a Tiger I will be 1.
2.All units will have a longer range.
3.Spotting will increase for infantry units, reduce for tanks.
4.Scout and sniper units will be hard to spot.
5.Other settings has been changed to make the map more balanced.

Welcome to test this map. I really need all your advises!!

Here's the download address:

Please put equipment.pzeqp in to Data Folder
All the map files to My Games\Panzer Corps\Scenario
Select "custom games" in "scenarios", and enjoy the new way of gaming!! :D :D

Thanks! :D

Currently I just modified the units used in this map, since its a testing map rather than a real Mod.
More units and maps will come if people are interested in this kind of map.

Nice scenario, I didn't encounter any technical problems while playing.

This is a great new way of playing Panzer Corps. :D :D :D

Fantastic!

I've wanted to do this for a longest time. Something to re-create the battles from Steel Panthers.

I would say that each unit represents a platoon or company sized element.

-How large is each hex?
-How do you plan on incorporating line of sight into the mod?
-Need to edit the terrain file and change some movement (Tanks in swamps, no no. Same with woods)
-Need to edit ammunition for vehicles (Tiger tank only has 20-something rounds)
-Artillery needs LONG range. Maybe mortars are better suited for this scale?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot, Richard!

I guess the "tactical mode" is hard to be perfect because we cannot change the core of PzC. Still, I think it can bring some different funs for the player. :D :D

Thanks, Mike, all your question is quite critical & helpful.

-How large is each hex?
I guess each hex is around 100-200 meters.
-How do you plan on incorporating line of sight into the mod?
So far, it is still impossible to achieve that in PzC.
-Need to edit the terrain file and change some movement (Tanks in swamps, no no. Same with woods)
Strongly agreed. That's easy to achieve as well.
-Need to edit ammunition for vehicles (Tiger tank only has 20-something rounds)
It is easy to limit ammunition for units, however, do anyone know how to stop support ammo?
-Artillery needs LONG range. Maybe mortars are better suited for this scale?
100% agreed. I guess mortars are more suitable in this scale. Maybe we can develop a new function of calling artillery support & air support! :D :D
