Round world

Any chance of making the map wrap at the edges? I know it's probably a hold over from the Conquest engine, and would be a major project to change, but it's strange that it doesn't. It's been a genre standard forever, and it's an unpleasant surprise to find out that it doesn't wrap. It also goes a long way towards making starting positions unequal. Having a position at the edge of the map is very different from one in the middle, and greatly restricts your expansion options. It also just feels weird that we're on a flat world. It's much easier to imagine the torus world as a globe than it is to do so for a completely flat one.
