I'm sorry to hear about your issue, as I know how that can be "painful". Specially if you have lost files which you hadn't made a backup.
I'm afraid but Panzer Corps cannot produce suck kind of crashes, in which you need to have a completely Windows reinstall. I would like to remind you that your Windows is running other applications while you're playing Panzer Corps. Something else in your system has caused that issue, but not Panzer Corps.
We know that some users are already running the game in Windows 8, including myself, so I'm quite confident that Panzer Corps is compatible with Windows 8.

ok cheers and thank you for your reply. im not trying to put down panzer corps, I love the games your company produces, ive run WWI on this computer and all is fine. its the dell tech who asked what I was doing prior to the crash, I said I was installing panzer corps and that's for some reason it didn't auto load, nor did windows recognise the file, so I manually opened the disk on the drive and forced a install, it was he that told me it was the install of panzer corps that had cause the crash. id like to try and re-install the game but im worried all will be lost again. cheers and thanks again.

Now that's another matter. If the file is corrupted or your DVD reader isn't recognizing properly the disk that can lead to some issues, but even though they shouldn't be enough produce such crash.
I've just tested in a brand new Toshiba notebook with Windows 8 and I was able to install without any issue at all.
I suggest you to try to install Panzer Corps by downloading the game instead. If you need a new download link just email your order details to support[at]slitherine.co.uk requesting a new download link and we will provide you one.
Install from that downloaded file instead.

Dear sir,
I cant thank you enough for your support, I think you have the answer, it makes sense now because I bought WW1 via the download link and not a store, the problem is with Panzer Corps is that I actually bought the game from "EBs" at mount Hutton, NSW, Australia. I thought at first I had bought it by download but I was wrong. was somewhat embarrassing to send an email and then find I actually had the game 2 feet from me

. I can give you the serial number that was written in the box, it was xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx, having said all that I did buy the campaign 45 add on as a direct download here is the order info:
Dear jeff,
Thank you for your purchase of:
(1) - Panzer Corps: Grand Campaign 45 East - PC Download Your license key (serial number): xxxx-xxxxx-xxxx-xxxx Order ID: xxxxxxxxx
having said all that I gather you don't have to send me a new download link as its EBs fault and not slitherine, which I totally understand. The offer was very thoughtful and I thank you again. cheers for the help and keep making great games. all the best.
regards jeff

You'll need to install Panzer Corps if you want to play DLC 45 East.
If your disk is corrupted or at least you aren't able to load in your new computer, than I'm afraid but you'll need a new installer.
If that's the case try to register your Panzer Corps serial in your Slitherine account:
http://www.slitherine.com/register_serial
After doing this, pm me with your email and I'll provide you a download link.
