display resolution help

hi,
I have recently reinstalled GS2.10 on a new virtual PC and it is not utilizing the full available resolution -- it is only using 1024 x 768 (I think) when there is 1366 x 768 and 1920 x 1280 modes available. I had this problem once before and solved it (also on VirtualBox) , but can't remember what I did. Is there a settings file that can be modified or something?
