New to laying this, and think a new tournament for the newbies would be good, also where can I get more custom maps.

There are a fair number of customized, downloadable maps available. You have to search sometimes but Sword, Hillman, Ortona, Fast & Sneaky, City River should all show up with a search query. That should be a good start, I know there are more but these I've downloaded/played. I went through a few pages of threads looking at what was available before downloading.

I played the AI then perhaps a good 40 multiplayer games before asking to join a tourney and am getting my rear handed to me regularly.

How much have you played so far? AI and multi?

Is your idea, a sort of noob tournament? Like, a tournament with folks who have only limited experience with the game?

I'm up for this - I expect you can check my stats? I've a few games PBEM under my belt but would like to extend the campaign side a bit.....

You can check the date that a member joined the forum. By implication, recent joins = newer members. Might help with checking you're getting what you want.

My improvements have come from:
- playing friends and trying different things,
- reading tips on the forum. Look for interesting titles or frequent posters. Gottalove88s is particularly good about sharing insights, and
- playing someone who's better than I and is kind enough to offer advice. By definition, that's most if not all of the frequent posters on this forum! After all, they want a good game too.

I've got a hundred multiplayer and 4 months ai play under my belt.......please someone setup a newbies tourine.

I would assume newbie would be from just started to 6 months.
