when a commander is moved (operating on its own) do you have to take in to account terrian. and also can he move though units a without restrictions or dose he have to move round certain units

Commanders move as light horse when on their own so move at the movement rate of light horse in terrain.

They are free to move through friendly troops no problem but would have to move round enemy battle groups.
