I received two emails:

First:

Congratulations! You have been selected as one of the lucky few first batch of beta testers for Pandora. The game is still in development and we need your help to make it the best game it can be.

Your personal serial for Pandora is : <BLANK>

There was no serial in this email.

Second:

Thank you for volunteering to beta test Pandora. We really appreciate you taking the time to look at the game. We have just launched the beta with a small group of randomly selected testers. Unfortunately you were not selected for stage 1.

Talk about confusing...

sorry about this. The issue is that your name is on the list twice for some reason. This is not supposed to happen and we didn't check for duplicates. The random selection chose one of your entries to be added and the 2nd not. The data for teh serials got imported for teh live testsers first and then the people that were not in. As the waiting list was added 2nd it overwrote teh data for you in teh system and lost your serial.

You are on the beta and I'll PM you your serial number.

Damn technology - I'll have to find out how you got on the list twice and make sure nobody else is!
