Pivot over 2UM from enemy

Hello all,
Is pivoting (as defined at the bottom of the table) over 2UM from the enemy N/A?. This is a new entry in the Movement Table (in red) and it seems to me that more comlex actions (like the one in the example in pg.39) are allowed even with the need to pass a CMT.
What is the difference between a pivot and a turn? (as opposed to wheel). See the Movement Table entry 'within 2UM of enemy' turn or wheel.
thankyou in advance,

Pivoting is only allowed to unlimbered artillery and units in extended line if they are within 2 Mu of an enemy. This restricts their movement.
A unit in tactical can turn to face an enemy within 2 MU so that if they were facing your flank you can turn so they face your front and allows you to shoot at them. You could turn up to 90 degrees.
Pivoting is different from wheeling. In a wheel one corner stays put and the opposite corner moves forwards or backwards.
When performing a pivot the unit wheels one front corner forwards up to 2MU (4 MU for unrefromed infantry) And also wheels its other front corner back up to 2 MU (4 for unreformed infantry). The unit must then slide in its current facing to maintain the same distance from the nearest enemy.
A pivoting unit will most likely not be able to turn a full 90 degrees, but can still bring an enemy on their flank to their front if they can pass the CMT.
Pivoting is covered in the latest errata here

Pivoting was introduced after we found that artillery - especially large units with an attachment - could reform to turn facing 90deg sideways to face an enemy that approached their flank. This seemed totally unreasonable, given the 10 dice at close range that they'd be able to fire in the next move.
Artillery now have only the choice of either wheeling or pivoting towards the enemy.
Wheeling allows only one corner to move whereas pivoting allows both to move (one forwards and one backwards). Artillery will need to pass a CMT in both cases, but infantry need only take a CMT to pivot - they can always wheel.
