L. Ottomans v Dailami, V2 test drive

Good morning Foggers
Lee Cleveland and I took V2 out for a test spin.
He took Later Ottomans with an IC, I took Dailamis with and a FC.
Can't see using 4 x TC very often with only moving 2
He had 6 Serbs Kniggets, 2 Ave Protected Timorits, 2 Superior Protected Timorits
2 x 6 MF Janissaries and some LF and LF Bow.
I had MF Dailamies, 1 elephant units and a Kurd ally with Sup Arm Cav lancer and 2 LH lancers
1st thing that jumped out was that you need to keep a large enough gap between skirmishers and the main battle line.
I moved my LF to 4” of the Serbs with my 4 Sup arm cav 3” behind the LF.
The Serbs charged, rolled a 6 and ended 3” From my Cav.
I made a CMT, but no matter which way I turned I could not get away.
Under V1 a 5” moved would have been able to move beyond 4”.
The Serbs charged during their turn and killed a Cav in impact and 1 in melee.
Pop goes the Kurd Sup Cav at 50%
I made the morale check but the death roll got them.
In V2 4 figure units of Superior are much more fragile.
The Kurds managed 3 hits, so killed a Serb.
The Serbs pursued into the path of the Elephants, so I charged in.
The Elephants with 3 dice did 4 hits and killed a Serb.
During the melee another Serb went down and pop went the Serbs with 3 dead of 6.
The Serbs also passed their morale check so would have been still fighting in V1.
The elephants spent the rest of the game chasing Timariot cav with no success.
LF Bow on both sides numerous times made CMT to retire to > 3” so they could shoot and the LH / Cav could not.
Also Cav/LH are much more vulnerable to being caught when they flee than in V1
My LH Lancers ran an Ottoman LH Bow down that was at 3”, when in V1 would have stopped at 4.
The Ottoman Cav had the same problem the Kurds had, could not CMT and just move away from the Dalaimi MF.
A Timoriat Prot Cav got trapped against a Steep hill and table edge, and in V1 would have slide by out of charge range.
The Ottoman IC made the checks for the undrilled Timoriats easy to retire 2”, so they kept the gap open v the Dailami MF.
It took a few turns for both of us to get used to the new 3” Mtd bow range and 4” Skimisher pin range.
Overall we enjoyed the game, it is just a touch different.
Best regards
