movement of elephants???

just had a situation ariase in a game i was playing using elephants. i wanted to move them backwards facing an enermy unit. we looked thuogh the rule book but couldn't find a rule as it didn't effect the game i got round it an other way. i though i might ask on here if anyone knows of a rule??

Do you mean as a normal move to move them backwards?

It is not possible as a single move. They can pass a CMT to turn 90 degrees or 180 degrees but not move backwards.

If they are in a position to double move they could pass a CMT to turn 180 degrees and then move straight back with their second move.

Can you provide a few more details.

The only troops that can 'move backwards' are skirmish troops. LF, LH and non-shock Cav/Cam/chariots that are 1 deep.
