1/72nd Scale Basing Question

Due to budgetary/storage area availability reasons, I feel that 1/72nd scale figs (from the likes of HaT and Italeri etc) will be the figures that I use to play FOG-N with.

However, I'm at something of a conundrum - what basing size to use?

Experimentation has shown me that a Flames of War Medium base will just barely accomodate 8 figures (4x2), but its a close run thing. What base would you guys recommend?

Does anyone play using 1/72? I'm aware that the most common scales are probably 28, 10 and maybe 15's.

FWIW as space is a consideration, I'd recommend using 15mm basing. You can probably get the soberly posed HaT figures onto such bases in the suggested numbers (8 for most infantry and 3 for most cavalry).
15mm bases are 4cm wide and 3cm deep for infantry, cavalry and all but heavy artillery, who use 4cm (which is optional for all artillery).

its a personal choice thing really. I have several Nappy armies in 1/72 that we used with the old WRG rules, but I have since switched to 28mm plastics as my eyes are not as good and I don't want to paint the 1/72 stuff any more. I based all mine for 25mm as that was the size I played in metals and I have never liked 15mm myself.

It's really up to you . if you can base them on 15mm , why not and here in belgium we base them by 6 for the infantry . The result is good .
