I an a friend got a new copy of CEAW 1.12 Gold about 3 weeks ago and have a couple of problem with them that maybe somebody out there can help us with. The first one is that when we are playing TCP/IP our game will lock up at the end of the German move on turn 5 everytime no matter which scenario we are playing. We have tried playing 5 times now with the same results each time. After the German player has moved and ended his turn both players have the hour glass waiting for the other to finish their turn but neither can do anything but click on the End Game buttons. Has anyone had this happen to them and if so how did you fix it? I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the game several times.

The other problem is with the install of GS 2.1 we both have tried to install the upgrade with no luck. We both get to the startup window where you can select full screen and sound but when you click to start the game we get the small dos window pop up for about a second then nothing happens after that. I see that several other people have had the same problem and seem to have got it fixed but no one posted how they got it fixed. When I look at the files for GS 2.1 I don't see anyway for the game to start so I guess that there is a problem with how it is installing (no .exe or autorun files). Could someone post that information for all to use, who may have the same problem?

When you start 2.1 install it looks like its doing nothing but it is, just leave it and come back in 30 or 60 minutes and should be done,
I had same problem closing the window when nothing was happening for 5 or 10 minutes then I just left it and it worked.

Well I got the Info I need over at the Materix Forum. You need to change the install directory to C:\Matrix Games\Commander Europe At War Gold and then it will work. Also it may take a few minutes for the install to start like the last post stated. How long will depend on the speed of your computer.
