Finland . . .

Playing in MP as the Central Powers I have captured all three Finnish cities. I was wondering if there might be a "Finnish event" but there wasn't. I was wondering whether there might be though - so that if Germany "liberated" all three cities there would be an option for Finnish independence, or at least some sort of autonomy under German supervision. Maybe Finland could start producing it own units to fight the Russians - and maybe there could be a slight re-balancing of the PP's between St Petersburg and Helsinki to reflect the change in political/economic circumstances? Also, there is no railway line in the game between Helsinki and St Petersburg - the line was actually opened in 1870. Any thoughts?

If you mean our game, I believe you didn't capture city of Vaasa, but I can be wrong.
Absence of railroad is strange indeed. There was major naval base and railroad was intensively used to supply dreadnaughts stationed here for most of war.

Do you atleast get control over entire Finland after capturing all 3 cities (like in Egypt)?

No, you don't get control of all of Finland when you occupy their three cities.

The reason this happens in Egypt is because there are no remaining entente supply points or units. Areas surrounded by the enemy without any supply points or units are automatically gifted to the surrounding enemy. If the Brits retreat into the Egyptian desert, the Ottomans wouldn't gain automatic control, but without supply it would be a short game of cat and mouse.

In Finland, Russia is still able to provide supply to the unconquered territories, and so they won't be transferred.

Can we still have a railway line between St Petersburg and Helsinki though?

Hi, I'm Keke form the Matrix forum, and this is my first post here.

I'd suggest moving the city of Vaasa 2 hexes north to make the map look more credible in the area. I would also add the city of Tampere to the map ("Manchester of Finland", the site of biggest battle in the Finnish Civil War 1918), but obviously it is not that important. Cheers!

By the way why new patch removes port from Helsinki? Leave alone gameplay aspect (Russia now have only one Riga base on Baltic Sea and if Germans capture Riga, Russian Navy can't operate at all, which is not what happened in reality) there were major Russian naval bases in Helsinki and Krondstadt (Petrograd).

YES!

After the last game update, Russia in Baltic sea has only one port in Riga!!!

But the main base of the Baltic Fleet was then : St. Petersburg, Helsinki (Helsingfors) and Tallinn (Reval).

Riga was just a secondary base.

Why was cleaned port in Helsinki (Helsingfors)?

In the Gulf of Finland based Russian coastal batteries, destroyers, mine fields across the bay and smaller ships just like the other great powers..
Helsinki should remain a port. Also, of course Russia should have a green dot zone up by Helsinki and Petrograd!!!!

Main base of the Baltic Fleet was then : St. Petersburg, Helsinki (Helsingfors) and Tallinn (Reval).

1) St. Petersburg(Kronshtadt)-main base of the Baltic Fleet since the founding of the Baltic Navy in 1703

2) Helsinki (Helsingfors) -battle-fleet

3)Tallinn (Reval)-cruisers and submarines

I think we need to return the balance of power in the Black Sea.
Turkish navy and Goeben (even Goeben). -I have created a separate topic about it!

And Russia to return the port in Helsinki, by the way battleships should be based there, and not in Riga.

There is a Finnish Revolt event in the event file, but I do not understand how it gets triggered. Perhaps it was killed in the release version. But it is/was there.
