I'm happy to invite everybody to take part in the German Open 2013

FoG-tournament

• 800 points per army, 15mm, 1MU = 1Inch, Open tournament, all official lists permitted
• FOG V2.0 is the actual ruleset we use.
• There will 4 rounds to be played using Swiss system. Random draw in the first round, avoiding players from the same club or country playing each other if possible
• Timetable:
Saturday: 10:00 to 13:45 and 15:00 to 18:45
Sunday: 09:00 to 12:45 and 13:30 to 17:15
• Playtime: 3,5 hours. When time is called the current round shall be finished, excluding the Joint Action Phase (so no JAP in the last round)
• We will use the 25-0 system (incl. tenth) for the tournament ranking
• Please send your registrations incl. your army list (with order of march) to martin@fieldofglory.de
• Players have to supply their own terrain
• Deadline: February 15th, 2012

Participation fee

• The participation fee for the FoG-tournament is 30,00 €
It needs to be remitted until the deadline to the bank account.
Information about the bank account will be given after registration

The registration is valid after the bank transfer is completed. If you encounter problems with doing a bank transfer, please let me know.

We are planning a maximum of 40 players, and will use the method: “First come – first serve” on the registrations. Anybody coming late will be added to a waiting list
• Entrance to the venue itself is free.

Pricing
Again there will be the challenge trophy called „German Open Champion – Field of Glory“. In addition we will have a ‘yellow jersey’, which is awarded to the leader after day one.

Catering
For Saturday evening there is a social dinner planned (included in the participation fee)
During the whole venue there is the Marksburg a la carte-restaurant available nearby.
Drinks and snacks are also available in the ‘Burgschänke’
Please do not bring in your own drinks to the venue.

Accommodation
We do not organize a central accommodation.
You can find possible accommodations on http://braubach.de/de/betten.html
If you require further assistance finding accommodations or need other directions (Koblenz is only 5 minutes away by car), please let us know.

To give you more information:
The venue is directly on the historical Marksburg, so we have a wonderful environment.
The last 2 years we played with 24 players on the tournament, for this year we extended the number of possible players to 40.
We have international players from UK, Belgium, France, Spain and Switzerland in the last years and we hope to make it even more international ths year.

Since we announced the tournament, we have already 12 booked players, so 28 places are left.

I thought you were a driver for the red cross during the war.
Or did they not have the red cross in 1914

I think you have the wrong war Phil. The red cross was set up after Solferino in 1859 following the horrific casualties caused by erratically driven horse drawn ambulances. That's the war you are after.

I usually have someone to drive for me,(coach drivers ,taxis )

Not sure about the horrific casualties being caused by horse drawn ambulances, the shooting might have also be a factor. Talking of horrific casualties sound like one of Phil or Steve Charlton's drinking sessions!!

Still it would not happen now as they have all been made in to burgers.

The tournament is over!
It was fantastic, having 38 players from 6 countries there (this was more international than The Worlds this year, and even more players.
We had a fantastic area, and lots of real funny and interesting games.
My special thanks to the 15 international players (5 from UK, 4 from Belgium, 3 from France, 2 from Austria and 1 from the Netherlands) for coming over to Germany.

I'm proud to say (from a German perspective), that we have the 2 best players coming from germany, followed by lots of the international players close behind.
Congratulations to the first 3 players, Ferdi Akaltin, Michael Schmidt and Ian Stewart.

I hope, all of you had as mich fun as I had and we will see you hopefully next year again!

Now that Lynda and I are back and settled into work again,we would like to say a big thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable weekend,especially Martin and our opponents and Ian for showing us around Monday.Even the 1st time driving went smoothly
If the Worlds are any where as good then we highly recomend everyone goes.
