Are the prerequisites for getting a commander random?
I ask because the Germans only have two commanders at the end of 1916.
To get the third I need 100 kills. Ok, no trouble, I have 437. But I also need to have researched infiltration tactics and I'm only a little more than halfway on that.
I've had 2 labs for infantry pretty much from the start.
Seems a bit skewed...

no its not random. hes the last field commander you will get, and yes it takes a while before you get him. he's also a minor general (just 1 hex radius instead of 3).

Wonder why one have to wait so long. Both AH and Turkey get their third general much sooner iirc.
Don't know about the generals on the Entente side.

german generals are the best you can get tho, and the last general historically didnt rise untill late in the war when infiltration tactics were getting more common i suppose.
