All - A question, I upgraded from CEaW 1.12 to a copy of GS 2.10 from files I downloaded from the server in June. I just started a game, He used the installer, but we keep getting a checksum error that says that Unit.txt was changed. Neither of us, I'm pretty sure, didn't touch that file - So is this a normal glitch now? Or our versions out of whack?

depending on your original version and if you were in the beat team it is possible to have this issue - usually a convoy setting !

just look at the files to see whats different

I think unit.txt was changed between the latest published beta version and the final version in the installer. We changed the oil consumption for the convoys from 1 to 0 since the oil used was 1 per 10 steps on the convoy. So late game convoys could burn 10+ oil per turn and that meant the Allies or Russians could run out of oil.

I am not aware of any other potential issues once you have the game running

Listen, I did the latest upgrade, and I still get the error. I am in two PBeM games. When I was in Beta testing, we got access to the server for the latest files. Can we still do that? I know Ronnie would know, but I haven't seen him post in a while. Is he still participating? Borger or anyone, you can PM me with the server info, or a location I can get ALL the latest files for a manual install? I even tried to use the installer - but got a complete blank screen. Appreciate any info on this . Thanks!

If you are getting a checksum error then it is your opponents files that are not up to date.

Eek! Sorry Duncan - Not sure why I called you Richard. Yes we did play a few games - I got an Update from Paul (pk867) and it fixed the issue... Thanks again for your help, perhaps when I get back to playing style - we could play again?

There is a version v2.12 out there with some minor fixes (non game breaking). I've sent them via email to those who sent me a PM with their email address. When we're sure there aren't more things to fix then we will make this version available to the public.

I have an upcoming change regarding increasing the needed cities / rail depots in Finland / Estonia from 2 to 3 so Finland won't accept an armistice without any Russian units inside Finland. That change will create a checksum error for people with an older version of general.txt
