Victory with a twist 6th of June 1918, hardest difficulty

Decided to play on the hardest difficulty for the first time. Playing as the Central Powers.

Following the tactics of many posters here I started with scrapping navies for both Austria and Germany. Asap also the free labs in some categories (not inf and/or art) were sold for both countries as well.

Reason for the above of course to buy more inf, cav, ammo and art to overwhelme Serbia and France, taking Warzaw and establishing a line from the Baltic to the Rumanian border vs the Ruskies. First turn scrapping of the Austrian battleship permits that vital art buy in the first round together with a couple of other units. That early artillery comes in great vs the Serbs.

Serbia and France were indeed overwhelmed in spite of some more effort then usual from the English to help the French. The Serbian campaign went faster then ever. The russians managed to take back Warzaw in their first move but lost it again on my next turn and after that the russians were locked down in a stalemate, they also lost another town close to Austria (prolly was Brest Litovsk) and the line mentioned above was created and never breached, very little fighting there, good for manpower.

Normal procedure after Serbia: setup for Italy. Germans ready to help from the west with a few forces, France not entirely subdued yet.

Italy went down the usual way. Attacked from east, west and south they cant make a proper stand anywhere and quickly losses several vital cities with Rome following closely.

Turks are also quicker then usual to take Egypt, an operation I dont always succeed in but this time very smooth. Turks task after this is to attack Caucasus. Egypt army disbanded and new army built in eastern Anatolia.

Some labs can now also be built by Austrians and Germans in other areas. Split responsibility. Austrians go for tank labs, germans for air labs.

Setup for Rumania with 4! art. 2 german and 2 austrian. Rumania is crushed in two turns. 5 russian cities in Caucasus falls to the turks. Odessa aswell along with Rumania and we are about to turn north to kill the russian main army. Not necessery, they revolt and surrender in 1916.

Forces are disbanded en masse, an abundance of pp starts to roll in that goes to labs and navy and infrastructure. Netherlands conquered for some extra.ยด

Preparing for an attack on England but deciding something more fun.

With about twelwe tranports and a strong battle navy Austrians, Bulgarians and Germans sets sail not for England but for the US. Some American coastal cities are not guarded so I figured why not try.

Indeed America was easy and would have been a completely uncumbersome adventure had it not been for the british who either, for some reason, had a very large army in Canada or had it in the build queu and now built in Canada. British armor, art and inf made the conquest harder then it seemed at first but with Washington in my hands (important to land an art unit with support south of Washington, Washington must be taken for the supply) a firm supply source was there and 6 more transports with austrian armour and bulgarian infantry were coming. Winter saved the British for some time but when summer of 1918 came a bombing campain had brought the British economy to a virtual stand still and landings in England proper together with a new offensive towards Canada finally resulted in an Ultimate Central Power victory 6th of June 1918. Could probably have been a year earlier if I had not sailed over the Atlantic but the chance to take America could not be over looked :)

I'd call that a "twist." Not what I expected to read.

I wonder which state the Bulgarians would get to keep in return for their help? New Jersey?
