Air attack failure - does anybody have the same prob?

This is something that happens to me occasionally in PzC, but so far it never bothered me too much:

When trying to attack ground units with airplanes there happens sometimes - well, exactly nothing.
By that I mean that none of the "normal" sounds and anims come that you usually get when a plane attacks, but scores no kill.

Is anybody getting this as well? I'm wondering if it's a bug, and if these attacks are technically "misses", just without those sounds and anims usually indicating that, or if the attack just never occurs...

As said I never cared too much, but recently I'm under the impression that I get it quite often per scenario.

I have seen the same happen with AA units attacking air units, no sound/animation and no results.

I suppose its fairly obvious but since neither of you mentioned clear skies in your posts... did you check the weather ?
What your describing sounds a lot like what happens when its raining.

Yes it happens somewhat often. You will essentially miss completely.

Yes aircraft do often miss their target but you still hear the air attack sound if the weathers clear right ?

Not sure. I know you don't hear it land but I think you should here it drop.

My prob is not related to weather. I can try to initiate the air bombardment, I get the crosshair and the prediction of losses (which would not appear at all in bad weather). But when clicking to actually bomb there is just nothing.

There's no specific pattern I can see, for example I can bomb with the same unit on a different turn, or after reloading normally (unless the same prob occurs again).

Try pressing "L" to see the combat statistics after such an case. You will see, if the aircraft missed the ground unit.

Except the enemy air units where able to attack my ground units during the same turn.

I recall hearing about this problem in an earlier thread. If I remember
correctly the question was asked if their were any Mods installed.
Just A shot in the dark.

I had this problem when I had the RSM installed. I never calculated it to see if it was actually causing a failed attack, or rather if the attack came up a miss then it was failing to play the sound. My instincts were the latter, so I wasn't too worried about it. I switched machines and have not yet re-installed RSM (I will soon), and the problem is gone.

Yep, I do play a lot of mods, several of them using RSM sounds. Though I'm quite sure I had the problem when attacking with a plane that otherwise was working well sound-wise, even displayed the "miss" anim (bomb hitting 'empty' ground) fine on other occasions.

I have tro try fsx' suggestion, so far mostly forgot it in the heat of the battle :)
