There was an updated hotfix available for immediate download on Matrix's website and announced on www.wargamer.com. It states "The small but effective update will address an AI issue." what is this?

It's and issue where the game hangs around 1942. I don't know the details, but it's a combination of actions who can trigger such a bug and you can't get out of it and continue the game unless you add the hotfix. The hotfix only changes 2 files and won't change the save games so they're incompatible with v1.02.

ok, I wonder why they said it was an AI issue when it was a stability issue?

:) Maybe being in the technology field myself, and having to diagnose, solve and explain why major outages happen to business critical systems in the enterprise I find this reasoning interesting.... so the game crashes when played in single player mode... most of us associate the term "AI" (which is really a misnomer, it is really a series of programming from the developers, not actually an artificial intelligence) with the decisions that are made in terms of tactics and strategy that the computer opponent executes. So it's reasonable to think AI issue would be a game play change for the computer opponent, not a lock up that manifests itself in single player mode which I would venture to guess is the manner in which the game is played most. Not trying to nitpick or start a long thread, and hope I didn't offend.

I was wondering if the explanation may elevate expections that game play will be changed when it is not, basically.

There was a specific issue that ocured for one player and the AI never finished his turn, which we fixed but as it was not effectig a large number just rolled it out quietly. If you are not experiencing any problems you don't need it. You can download it from the tech support forum if you have problems.
