a mf light spear attacks a lh lancers from behind. mf light spears gets +2 for attack from behind. lh lancers gets +1 for cav against mf and +1 for lancers. this doesn't seem right...

a mf offensive spear attacks a lh light spear. mf gets + for offensive spear. lh gets +1 for cav against mf and +1 for light spear.

should lh gets +1 against mf?

Hi fogman

I crested a small scenario to check both examples.

The mf off spear being -1 Poa against the Lh light spear is Ok to happen I think.

Now the mf light spear charging in the rear of the Lh light spear seems to be a bug. I confirn that the Lh geta a PoA for been mounted other than El/SCh; target MF/LF in the open.

As far as I know every Bg loose his POA's when charged fron the rear.

Cheers

These seem correct:

* any BG charged legally in the rear is at ++ vs -- POA

*The Lightspear cavalry charging a medium off spear BG will be at a + vs - Why? the off spear gets a +, the cavalry gets a + for vs medium foot(assume open ground) , BUT then the light spear "special"poa kicks in where it gets a + if the POA net...
Interestingly, if it was a lancer charging the same medium offensive spear, the POA would be net 0 since the lance poa is negated by the steady off spear, the lance still gets the + vs medium foot POA though.
This bothered me when I ist started playing but basically FOG assumes light spear cavalry can "impact" charge at a stand off range, ie throwing darts, javelins or even their light spears into the enemy.

has anybody seen evading LF, or routing units, going through impassable? I think i just saw an evading lf doing just that.

In a rear impact attack, no other POAs should apply so the attacker should be at ++ and defender at --. It is a bug in the game that other POAs like light spear or mounted versus MF/LF in the open are being applied.
