IGO-UGO and definition of "Turns"

Often I'm left wondering what is meant by a "turn" or "move" in alternative move (IGO-UGO) games.

Is a "turn" (sometimes called a "move" in FoGN):

a) A pair of action sequences (i.e., player A goes through the sequence as the "active" player, than player B does), or

b) A single action sequence for one player (i.e, if either player goes through the sequence).

It makes a big difference for reserves and flank marches which can start to be activated with "turn 2"; and for attacker-defender restrictions in the "first 2 moves of the game".

I've always taken a "turn" or "move" to be (a) a pair of action sequences. Couldn't find anything by searching the forum (too many topics with "my questions" and "move" / "turn" show up everywhere - I believe Balthergut might have asked this but I couldn't find it). Just checking in case I'm completely out to lunch on this / contaminated by FoGAM/R.

When you begin your second turn (i.e., Assault Phase), that is the beginning of your Turn 2. Yes...either too much FoGAM or too much Heinekin!

Now, now, don't be that way. :D Beside, I can do better than a Heineken - there's all those excellent Belgian beers, for example, or real pilsners from Pilsen (hmmmm!).

Reminds me of a joke General Hillier liked to tell:

The presidents of Labatts, Molson's and Keith's (three Canadian beer companies for those who don't know) are at a conference and go out for lunch. The President of Labatt's orders a (Labatt's) Blue, the President of Molson's orders a (Molson's) Canadian and the President of Keith's orders a coke. The presidents of Labatt's and Molson's look at the President of Keith's strangely and ask, "aren't you going to order a beer". The President of Keith's responds, "Nah, since you two aren't ordering beers, neither will I".
