Impact Foot POA vs Mounted

Hi All,

I am playing in my first tournament this Saturday(in Hamburg), and even more out of character, I have put together a Mid Rep. Roman Army. I am a dyed in the felt Mongol Bloke. As a Mongol my policy is to avoid Impact Foot when they are around.

Now that my world has turned upside-down, I am almost all Impact Foot and I have noticed a POA I have never considered before.

In the body of the Rules it says at impact they get a POA+ "Against any mounted, unless the foot are charging mounted shock troops"

In the QRS it reads a little differently, but I think has the same meaning. Impact foot in impact get the + POA when charged by any mounted and they get the +POA if they charge non shock mounted.

It is the way it reads to me, but something new to me, so my insecurity complex forces me to ask the question - am I right in my understanding?

Cheers
Rob(Paulus)Khan

You are correct Rob. Impact foot always get a plus if they stand and receive a cavalry/camelry/chariot charge, putting them on evens against lancers at impact and plus against others (except Lt Sp HCh who are the only ones getting a plus against them). They do not get the plus against shock mounted if the I F charge. So the lancers and HCh will be single plus against them, others minus.

Can't remember what happens with elephants.
