I'm trying out playing both sides in solo Hotseat game of 2.1.

I've been building units and leaders as the Allies while waiting for Russia and the US to become active. The problem is, I built Patton as a leader but the game won't allow me to place him on a unit now that he can be deployed. Plus. I don't know of any way of re-ordering the list of deployed units and leaders so its holding up the whole game.

What am I doing wrong?

Right click re-orders deployment.
If USA is still neutral you cannot place a leader, not even Patton.

As does left click.

You can't deploy leaders until the country has been activated.

Many thanks to both of you! I kept trying to 'drag' the units around.
I feel pretty dumb.

It's just a learning curve. I've been playing the game for a long time now, and it's still teaching me things. (Not as quickly as I'd like, though!)

Thanks, Jim. I've been playing for a year now and am still encountering new situations. For a game with simple mechanics it certainly is deep.
