If you import a pre-existing core at the beginning at DLC 42/42 West, you lose the majority of them after placement in the first scenario. Is it possible to get them back in the second scenario? Possibly using a cheat code? If so, how does one go about doing this?

What do you mean by "lose" ? You mean you can't place them, but they still are in reserve ?

In DLC 42/43 West, you only get to use 8 of your core unite, +4 SE units. All the rest of your units disappear once you start the first scenario. In the initial briefing, it is said that the units are assumed to remain in the Eastern Front. But I thought there was cheat code that allowed you to get all the units back in reserve, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

You are thinking of that cheat code. What it does is allow a unit destroyed in a scenario to go in reserve at 0 strength. It gives you the ability to rebuild it in the next deployment, as if a cadre remained. That works for units destroyed in a scenario, not in this case. Here, I think they are gone (i.e., stayed behind).

Well if you want to use a little bit of cheating, you can always simply skip the first scenario by using "endscn 0". Since deployment phase never ends in this case, your core should remain intact, and in the next scenario all of your units will remain in the reserve. However, you probably won't be able to deploy that many in the second scen, because the number of slots will be less than the number of units you have. Same will be true with the following scens too.

Note that Grand Campaign 42-43 West was not balanced with such a strong core in mind, so you may find it too easy in this case.
