Hi Simon,

I'm wondering how the size matches up to the Venexia miniatures?

I'm in desperate need for some Dragoons. I'm not having any success with e-mailing Sgt Major miniatures, after buying the majority of my army.

I'll say this for certain, IF they are similar in size (I know they'll be smaller, but not ridiculously so), and IF I can't get into contact with Andyh, I'll be buying 2 BG's off you.

What is the time frame do you think? I'd be really interested in getting them by mid-December.

Hi,

The first release which will be German/Anglo-Dutch will be out 17-18 Nov. The French which will be 'flounced up' versions of the same figures shortly after, this will include French Dragoons. The initial release will have Britich Fusiliers and German grenadiers.

Sizewise its tricky, the Lurkio figures are quite 'stocky' but not overly large - this was largely by design for ease of painting. I haven't got any Venixia figures left so its hard to make a side by side comparison. I'll dig what I've got out and try to take a picture later today.

thanks
Simon

Thanks Simon,

The Venexia I have are about 20mm in reality.

Do you think I'd be able to get the French Dragoons by the end of December? That would be the absolute latest I'd be able to get the armies done... that means they would probably need to be in the post by mid-December.

Thoughts?

Well, Christmas is my personal deadline for them... So should be OK, it'll be close!

Not to be talking about a competitor and jumping in on Simon's business, but I did talk to Andy of Sgt Major Miniature, 3 days ago at Fall-In. He stated that the "masters" he was given for the line were in bad shape, and the molds were completly shot (already known). He is having to remake the molds remade from the masters, but with the condition of the masters this is going to take more time than planned. He is looking to have the first line out possibly by Christmas, but more likely by February. He is taking e-mails about which range he is going to do first. It is between Italian Wars and Louis XIV. Andy did state that he is going to get all the lines out, but the order is subject to change and whim.

BTW Simon, I love the Mapuche.

Thanks for this. Andy just seemed to disappear into the aether... and that was before Superstorm Sandy. I'm glad to have some information. I may wait and see if I can borrow the Dragoons I need. Not ideal, but think Simon's figures will be a little too different. I have no doubt I'll buy some Lurkio stuff later anyway.

Hi ,

Unfortunately, I've had some bad news, and a close family member has been taken critically ill. Consequently I've had to cancel my attendance to Warfare.

So, if anyone didn't make their entry in time, please drop Tim a line ( there is a paid up entry that is available)

Also, all the 9 year war figures are all here, but I haven't had chance to upload any of it to the website. If you are desperate ( Christamas/Godentag) I can hand crank some orders out ... give me a bit of normality if nothing else!

Sorry for any inconvience caused.

thanks
Simon
