FOG V2 Tournament in Melbourne, Australia
Posted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 7:54 am
This is an ancient and medieval period competition using Field of Glory rules, including the version 2 updates, painted 15mm scale figures, and 6' x 4' tables. Players can provide their own terrain pieces; however, club terrain will be made available. Terrain will be set by the players in accordance with the Field of Glory set up rules.
Games will last three hours, with an additional time period of up to thirty minutes to be determined by the umpire. When time is called, all movement ends; if players are in the impact phase then declared charges are completed, impact
melees are resolved and cohesion tests are applied on outcomes for the final result. If players are in the movement phase then movement ceases and shooting and close com-bats are resolved and cohesion tests are applied on outcomes for
the final result.
Players who are given a bye will be credited with 0 points in order to conduct the draw. Armies may be chosen from any of the available companion books. Only one army list is to be provided, including all options relevant to the composition of the force (e.g. special campaigns). All battle groups must be fully defined by type, armour, quality, training and capabilities, number of bases and points. Allied generals and battle groups must be clearly identified. The Order of March must be supplied with the army list. Army lists are not to exceed 800 army points. Provide a return e-mail address or telephone number in case corrections need to be made.
This tournament will be the perfect opportunity for new players to learn the rules of Field of Glory, and for experienced players to learn the changes implemented in version 2. If you don't have an army, we can organise a Club Army for you, or you can use the forum at http://www.leagueofancients.org.au
The first round draw will try to match historical opponents where possible and armies from the same companion book. Later rounds will use the Swiss Chess method to determine pairings.
