Alea jacta est - not.

Is one allowed to pedantically point out that Caesar didn't actually say "Alea jacta est"? He said it in Greek as it was a quote from a play by Menander. (See Plutarch.)

I think Suetonius doesn't say anything abouti t being in Greek...so take your pick!

Of course, if we're being really pedantic, it's quite likely he never said it at all...

And if we are being really really pedantic, wouldn't it have been wirtten with an i not a j? ;)
