2mm basing size?

Sorry if this was answered before, but i can't find a dedicated thread about it.

I ordered two armies in 2mm from irregular (can't wait to have them).... and i am wondering what size is a 2mm unit base for FOG-N.

I think that an unit base should be 40mm in length and 30mm width ... am i right?

Thanks in advance

i was even thinking on using 40 x 20 bases (like the ones provided by Baccus) for the Metric size for FOG-N on 2 mm is 20 mm; should i have problems if the base width is 20 mm and not 30 mm?

There shouldn't be any problem with base sizes as long as both sides are reasonably similar.
The only issue is when using bases significantly different in width, in which case you should use the MU definitions given in the book.
i.e.: Bases 30mm wide (2-6mm ??) 1MU = 3/4 "
Bases 40mm wide 1MU = 1 "
Bases 60mm wide 1MU = 1 1/2 "
If you don't use these MUs then the measurments across the width of the battlefield will be a problem.

Of course you can base anything from 2mm to 20mm on 40mm bases and it will still look fine - but with different numbers of figures on the bases.
I haven't tried to mount 25/28mm on 40mm bases because artillery will always be a problem.

Thank you i believe the best is to use a width of 30mm to have a 3/4 inch MU (or 20mm MU), for the base size i have to see first the 2mm units that will be delivered (an austrian and a french army) then i will decide a common base size

Right now i see... i made a mistake the base size for 5-10 mm is 30 x 20 (so i assumed the width as the base deep size and not the wide base size.. sorry about that).... so now i opted for a 30 x 20 basing :D
