Dogfight advantage?

In my games playing the Axis i always seems to be the underdog in dogfight research. Even though i max out research at the earliest possible moment i still usually fall behind the RAF and sometimes even the Russians
So how do you guys experience this? Do you have the same feeling or the opposite?

Usually Luftwaffe & RAF have almost same lvl of dogfight ,but in 1939-1941 ,since Luftwaffe got better orginazation lvl ,so luftwaffe usually has little advantage ,but later when UK catch up with orgenazation ,they will be equal .

A fully upgraded carrier does better in the air than a fighter and since the allies get one at the very start and it's not all that feasible for the axis to buy one the allies have the advantage.

I seem to have the opposite experience. The only way I don't have the dog fight advantage as the Axis is if I delay building labs for some reason. But even then I don't fall far behind. As the British, I usually fall behind even though I'll max out air labs and focus on dog fight from the very beginning. It varies from a few turns behind to 2-3 whole levels. Random research is very random, but in my experience it seems to favor the Germans. Just me though. I'm sure I haven't played as many games as other people.

Actually, the second lab of dogfight was given on Jan 19th 1940, if axis launch an early bliz in 1939 ,it will usually effect the player to invest the 4 th lab on dogfight, the one who haven't got enough pp will have to delay the second dogfight lab .

How do you figure? I mean a carrier can get max 7 in air attack and 11 in survivability(Total 18). A fighter on the other hand get´s 9 in air attack and 10 in survivability(Total 19).

Voted for axis because of better starting organisation.
Still allies can field much more air units, so one day axis have to ground their airforce, effectively wasting all this techs invested.

True -- but are we to conclude from this that the Axis should not max out air tech investments? Typically I do max out the air tech labs when I am the Axis, but by 1943 or so replacing air losses becomes too expensive and so the remaining German/Axis air units are used less and less.
Has anyone tried to skimp on Axis air tech labs? What have been the results for game play?

I think the results will be very poor to skip air tech.....you simply have to keep control of the skies as long as possible. The only one who can afford not to is the russians
The way i see it, you suffer more mapower losses if you don´t control the skies and use bombers. The axis have a shortage of manpower so they don´t really have a choice in that snece. The longer you keep airsuperiority the longer you can withstand the allied unslaught and keep your manpower on a sound level....the bigger chance to win the game

I agree 100%. Higher Russian dog fight tech = fewer air losses = more tanks and mechs. It's a winning formula!

Ofcourse they would fare better, but due to their massive Manpower, they can afford prioritize other things

But without high dogfight tech , even if Russian have 5000 manpower , they won't be easy to move forward .

I do not agree. I would like to see it on the battlefield.

I have done it so many times, right now i am in à game against plaid, where russians prioritised pretty much everything else than fighter research...the germans are on the run already in summer 42.

Yes,but when you face a high quality Fortress Europe,it will be quite different !
