unreformed light infantry

As you pay the same price for reformed or unreformed light infantry I suppose "unreformed" light infantry moves and shoot as reformed !

Unreformed lights when in tactical move as unreformed infantry. They shoot as light infantry so can shoot at medium range etc. If they are in skirmish order they move as any other type of skirmishing infantry.

It is not clear from the rules ...the answer was perhaps somewhere in the rules but I am sometimes lost searching from one page to another

I agree it is not specific in the rules, however:
1. The army lists specify that "infantry" in a particular list are either "reformed" or "unreformed"
2. Infantry is defined in the rules (page 106 and elsewhere) as including line and light regiments.
3. It follows that light infantry are either reformed or unreformed, depending on the list.
4. Unlike the shooting table which has a specific row for light infantry, there are only 3 relevant rows on the movement table. "Unreformed Infantry"; "Reformed infantry"; and "Any Infantry in march column or skirmish formation". Unless light infantry are in skirmish formation, they will therefore fall into one of the other groupings, as per their army list.
5. Terry has confirmed in a previous post (which I can't seem to find) that this is the case.

I tinkered with a few lists.
Austrians get 17-18 units.
French get an awesome infantry force. But they are expensive.
Russians really have a hard choice to make between a heavy artillery force or heavy mounted force.
I "think" the coalition forces will really need a solid mounted force to survive the skirmishing.
I also can imagine fast 600 point games on smaller tables will work better in this period too.

Brett is correct. Players seem to assume that all light infantry move 6MU. However, unreforemed light infantry move 4MU when in tactical and in extended line. They only get to move 6MU when in skirmish formation (or march).I agree it is not specific in the rules, however:
