are the troop type that you get with the expansion pack better

How do you mean "better"? They are certainly different, so you have more variety. Which expansions do you have and which periods of history do you like?

really lamer the catalan company, all superior experience and trained pikemen and impact foot swordsmen for only 10 points

no limit ( 40 units !!! ) and on hills are impossible to break

I like the armored Sup Offensive spears Heavy Foot

i think 10 points for u sup,trained,offensiva lancers ( or swordsmen,impact foot ) and medium foot ( ! ) is esagerating. the swiss army has pikemen to 15 points and heavy foot. Almughavar units gain D status not easily against many different units, only heavy cavarly in low terrain can break them ( but on hills it's impossible ) or some special impact foot,swordsmen units like Iaylars of ottoman army list ( only 4 ! ). The one weakness of catalan company is low clean terrain and low resistance against heavy cavarly charge but in more crowd maps become very strong.
