rare heros

A player have remarked that a DEF 7 hero was very rare
In fact, because of kind of hero capacities (spot, def, att, mov, ini...+ range for arty) and the probability of heros "one" (def 1 for exemple) far better to arrive than a "three", the probability of "9" heros must be very very very rare (I've forgotten the rules of probability calculations since school days

)
In one DLC long run and a half of the second, I've seen two rare heros : DEF 7 (Panther) and an ATT 8 (me 410 "all destroyer")
does anyone gets an "9" hero in the same capacity , or another combination of "all three" heros ? (an INI 3 ATT 3 DEF 3 Tiger should be a nightmare on wheels)
On the same kind of subject It will be eventually fun to have
hero casualties in a unit...a little more heros to arrive, but a little ones to die in fighting. And it is realistic...heros are not in the kitchen but in front of the unit to communicate his skill on it. It's in another topic but If I'm alone on this idea it's perhaps because we love too much our heros...but they are not undying zombies. And finally if an "1" heros is replaced latter by another "two or three" in same or another capacity it could be funny to. (But less than a "three" by a "one"

)

I don't have any objection to the "mortal hero" idea, especially if the introduction of mortal heroes was combined with the introduction of new kinds of heroes, like supply or entrenchment or reduction of kill points.

I brought this idea to the table in another thread:

yes naughtybalrog has the original idea (KIA heros)
' still thinking it's a very good one...; some to die (not to much), some to replace (not to much)...are we only two guys ?
perhaps others hero capacity could be funny too but not to much (around ammo or entrenchment capacity like robman says, but reduction of kill point seems near the defense hero concept ?)
but too much capacities could be an error : an "all same capacity possibility" is something that could still happen ...but more the different capacities, less to happen for a particular one for a partcular unit.
have a fine day

How about a "leadership" hero that provides +1 initiative to all adjacent units?

I wish all my +1 spotting heros would die.

Probably all +1 movement heroes on non arty-units too...

In the main campaign I ended up with an HE177 with 2 attack heroes at +3 - I never got a third hero with this one.
This was very good for mincing allied ships in Overlord, and did some useful damage to heavy land units I was trying to strip of ammo and fuel.
I have started to like spotting heroes for some troops - pretty much useless for bombers and artillery but one or two infantry and tanks with +1 spotting means a lot less unwanted surprises. A +1 spotting tank can be a bit like recon that bites back , and I rather like the idea of cavarly or recon with a spotting hero. I must admit I was very sad to see the end of my 3* PzIV G with +2 spotting (due to +2 overconfidence and +1 bad luck).

My best and most destructive ever was during the USA campaign an incredibly lucky Jagdpanther with 2 Heroes and a total of +6 Defense.
Properly upgraded at the begining to 14, he could play "dumb" with most group of US tanks and survive... opening the door to less survivable units.

I didn't know you could get a hero with + 7 defense in the DLC's. Is his name Clark Kent ?
Isn't + 3 the maximum, (with the exception of some Italian heroes in Africa Corps). As for Hero combinations, well I've reached Budapest 44 east and the highest combined bonus for a single area of expertise is + 4, so I've never seen a unit with + 7.

+3 is still the max as far as I know. I am assuming he meant heroes totalling +7.
