180 turn and simple move

Hi,

A unit more than 6" from any enemy battlegroup with a general in legal bases to base contact.

Can the unit (undrilled knights) make a 180 degree turn as a complex moved. (Rolled and passed) Then as a second march move move its full legal distance away as long as it is a simple move and remains more than 6" from any enemy battlegroup?

I think so as it was done as a second move. Byron thinks not? Byrons point was around the way the QrS splits out the rules. I think so as it as done as a simple 2nd march move.

Both have gravitas.

Cheers

Hi Nigel

Check the points on page 75 of the rulebook.

The first 3 are easily passed.

The 4th, "The second move by a battle group or battle line must be a simple advance." is the key. You have already mentioned this point and your 2nd move adhered to it.

A resounding YES from me.

Rob

The rules seem to have no problem with doing this and it's how everyone plays it that I know of. Perhaps the sheet is wrong? It's not part of the rules after all.

OK, what am I missing here. What seems to be the issue with the QRS and 2nd moves?

Byron was interputing it according to the qrs layout in the boxes. Qrs are fine, byron couldnt grasp the distiction between a movement phase and 1st 2nd moves in a movement phase.

I think he has been short changed before so coloured his view. I or david f will put him straight.
