Proposed V2 query

Hi

Played a game today using the 'draft' V2 amendments (I think I have latest proposals) and things went smoothly enough except for the following:

• Interpenetration anomalies prevented:
o Leapfrogging prevented.
o “Teleport” interpenetrations prevented.

Any further detail available as to what is proposed here ?
I assume change is along lines of: units that cant achieve a full interpenetration using standard move dont get any extra MU to clear friendly units or 'teleport' beyond such units and now 'stick' in front until following turn (thereby increasing risk of being caught by chargers/pursers etc ??

Cheers

I think the issues they were trying to address were:

Leapfrogging: Say two units of skirmishers are getting a bit hemmed in by the enemy. At present you can move one unit "just so" and then interpeetrate it with the other unit. One of the two units gets to make a much longer move than normal.

Teleporting: take an 8 LF battle group in single rank. It's 32 cm wide. Take a unit of cavalry in 2 ranks - 6cm deep (who can interpenetrate LF in any direction). If you place the LF correctly (which is easy) the cavalry interpenetrate and pop out the other side, moving at least 38cm. They can do this even if some of the LF are in difficult going. So that's a 15MU teleport.

I assume v2 will say you can only move your normal distance, or a little bit further.

Thankfully I've only had the cavalry teleporting great distances through light foot used against me once in the last 4 years.

It was that dastardly Mr Powell but he was on the end of a good beating at the time.

I've been guilty of placing my light foot handgunners just the right distance behind my evading Ottoman Timariots to give them that extra bit of distance on the evade.
