My First Campaign in PC. FM mode

Hello,
I played a lot of Panzer General 2 lately. But because of the lack of a stable multiplayer solution, i bought PC.
I do the main campaign while waiting for game turns in MP games. The AI in the main campaign is kinda boring once the front line is taken out..
Yet I was very pleased to see difficulty to be much higher than in PG2. Prestige is very precious in the first campaign. Not so much afterwards. Is there a higher level than FM? Anyways, it is fun even with this AA,AT spamming around cities.
I follow a defensive strategy because I don't have an idea what I will be facing. Only Fighters with the tactical bomber given by default. The air battles are fun
.
Actually I build up an air force for the worse if I have to defend later in the war. A lost already lots of units to carelessness and others to tactical tests. Paratroopers getting killed. Recon getting too bold.
I got a Major in the first scenario in Poland. Than only marginal in France. the AA, AT spamming in those scenario makes it impossible without bombers.
My core is 4-5 Tanks. 8-9 Infantry. 5-6 Artilerry, 3 Recons, 2 88mm. 4 fighters. 1 tact bomber.
I have a big gripe with the main campaign. I do a major victory in Kiev after a marginal in Barbarossa. Then I do a marginal victory but I completely own the map. Except for 3 T34s for stay at the bottom right doing nothing. Then i got to Stalingrad. saying I could not hold the line. that's cheap. I was completely occupying Moscow without being given a chance to defend myself. Snow was hardly there for 2 turns.
That's my main gripe with PG games, they implement this get this city before X turns or you lose. There is no middle ground. For some scenario it makes sense. But on the Moscow 41 one, it does not. Stalin has escaped? Who cares. Let me defend Moscow during the winter (defense scenario with loads of attacks, expect to lose a lot of cores). If I win, by holding my line, it would be equivalent to a Major. If I don't hold the front line. It is like present. You get thrown back to the other branch in the campaign tree.
So now I'm trying to do a major victory at Stalingrad and in the Caucasus.
