GS v2.10 Installer -- Need Help Checking Out

If you'd like to test out the GSv2.10 installer please PM me and I'll send you the link with the understanding/requirement that you post your findings from testing the installer in this thread.

That's a pretty good indicator that it's installing the update to the wrong location. When you run the installer what location does it install to? What location is your base game installed to?

The game is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Military History Commander - Europe at War GOLD and the mod installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Military History Commander - Europe at War GOLD.
When I clicked ok the box popped up saying:
"The following settings will be used:
Install folder: C\Slitherine\Commander - Euope at War
Shortcut folder: C:\Slitherine\Military History Commander - Europe at War Gold\CEaW - Grand Strategy"

So it's installing to the incorrect location?

That is my understanding. I'm going to try installing 1.12 GOLD to C:\Slitherine folder then install the mod and see if that works.

I did a fresh install of MH CEaW 1.12 GOLD to C:\Slitherine instead of C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine and then installed the mod and the game launched.

I installed on two of my machines, both the gold version, XP and WIN7
it landed here
and loaded 2.1
wouldn't load a beta game file though

By the way, what version (exactly) were the games started with that you're not able to load?

The version we are playing is the very latest and should be correct. This indicates the Slitherine version is using old class files. Can you tell us the date of game.class

I moved this thread from the beta tester to the general forum. Slitherine has an installer for upgrading any configuration to GSv2.10. They need it tested before officially releasing it. It you would like to help with the testing then PM me requesting the link. However; you do so with the expectation that you will test it out and post your findings in this thread as reasonably quickly as possible.
Any takers?

1) yes
2) not familiar enough with the mod to answer
3) No, as it did not install to the proper directory. I had to force it to intall to the directory that CEaW GOLD was installed to.

What specifically did you have to do to force it to install to the correct directory?

As per my previous post, I had no difficulty installing. It is clearly a different version to GS 2.0, however, I can't confirm if all upgrades are effective. Based on my experience, I believe it is ready for general release.
