AfricaCorps problem: Stupid AI in single player mode

After having played AfricaCorps's single player maps I came to the conclusion that the game's AI is quite bad.

Example in the Persia map (User: Allied / Computer: Axis):

1. Panthers are built en masse at the Horn of Africa but not embarked in the nearby harbour. Instead they drive to the northermost point of the Horn and stay there.

2. Aircraft occasionally arrive to support the allied troops. However they are only visible on the overview map and remain at the edge. In the game you can't see them. Here they are hidden at the northern edge. Such they are utterly useless.

3. The way the AI attacks often lacks any logic. Entrenched infantry is frontally engaged by mobile AA units although there is infantry nearby to do the job.

4. Attacks are rarely prepared by artillery or bombers. Instead those only attack after an assault has been repulsed, if at all...

These are only a few examples of stupid AI. I usually play at Field Marshall level, so one should expect more intelligent AI.

So my 2 questions: Why is that and when will it be solved?

The AI has a lot of trouble when it has to act as axis as the scnearios are not build to be played as ally.
It is fair to say the game is build to be played from axis perspective and then can provide a lot of fun.
So, sry...this cant be solved for the existing game...its simply the way it is

Although some of the behavior you describe is supposed to be solved with AK release.
Others reported the AI to be better when replaying the DLCs

1.10 definitely made the AI do - good - things that it never did before and some of the clear bugs appear to be fixed(paratroopers actually land now). That said, it hasn`t stopped doing some silly things altogether if the situation favours them.
Placebo btw is also an important thing. I remember the makers of a mod(for another game) made an April fools joke by releasing an "AI enhancement" patch which didn`t actually contain anything. Then they`ve made a poll to get feedback on how the users find the "new" Ai. I don`t remember the percentages now, but a large part found it better or much better. I think some found it worse.

Seriously, you're complaining about something that's not even supported out of the box? If anything, the AK campaign was much more optimized for single player than the base PC game, but of course you will only get the intended game experience if you stick to playing the German side, mostly because of the many scripted events. I know you still haven't played through the standard campaign, but I assure you that you will change your opinion once you do. As a side note: playing the maps like this must give you an idea of how twisted our MP game actually is :P
