Download Difficulties over-seas

Hello! I have a friend who is currently posted overseas, in Afghanistan. He is in a very "rustic" area in the west of the country (he often comments that he's been exiled to the 1600s). This affects, among other things, his internet speed (he's lucky to have access at all !) Playing Panzer Corps and Field of Glory with me online is one of the main things he does to stay sane.

He started having problems with this last big patch...he could never maintain a connection long enough to complete the download. He's asked me to save the patch files onto a disc for him, and mail it, which I don't anticipate will be a problem.

However, knowing the issues he has with downloading any large files, I want to buy a copy of the Africa Corps expansion for him and send it as well, as a surprise. Now, the question I have is, can I buy a copy of Africa Corps for myself, and then also purchase a separate copy, with a separate code, and download it onto a disc to send to him?

Would I be better off buying one of the hard-copies? (I didn't even know those were available until I noticed it today). I notice that it says "Buy Boxed + Download Version $ 29.99". I assume those are both with the same serial number? So I would have to buy an additional hard-copy or downloaded copy for myself in order to play.

Thanks for your assistance!

Exactly.

If you buy two separate download versions you will get two serial codes. So you just have to do a backup of Afrika Korps installer to a CD and send it together with one of the serials.

And, personally, I wish everything runs well with your friend while he's staying in Afghanistan and that he make a safe return. Image
