Aux > Core purchase option

Here's an idea for a simple change in campaign game play that might be worthwhile: If auxiliary units are present during a scenario, give the player the option to purchase them (at the usual cost) at the end of the scenario, if they are still alive, along with whatever experience they have. This would give the player more of an incentive to keep aux units alive and to hold some prestige in reserve for the end of the scenario, even when the going gets tough. It would also provide a means of incorporating into one's core exotic units that only appear as auxiliary in the game.

Honestly I don't see too many people using this. Usually auxilliary units are not as good as your own so there isn't much of a reason to buy them. Usually the need to upgrade units and reinforce them is incentive enough to not waste prestige. I don't really recall any instances where I saw an "exotic" auxilliary unit either.

I don't know how often people would use it, either. It depends on what aux units are available when, and how much experience they have. Early in a campaign, for example, any unit with any experience would be an improvement over a new unit of the same type with no experience. Later in a campaign, aux units with some experience might be desirable if they are a type that tends to die early (recon, infantry late in the war). As for exotic aux units, examples are captured equipment, early releases of new models (like Tigers), and units from allied nationalities (most of which is supoptimal if you are the Germans, but not necessarily so if you are playing another nation).

Perhaps but there really isn't anything like what you mentioned in the game at the moment. None of the auc units early in the game are any more experienced than what you have (pretty much true for later in the war too). It isn't that I don't get what you are saying but it just isn't the reality of the way the game is set up. Captured equipment already becomes part of your CORE so that is pretty much already taken care of. There is only 1 time during the game that you get an early release of a Tiger and you can upgrade your tanks during the same scenario (it also just happens to come with 0 experience and won't get enough to be comparable to your CORE tanks).

I guess what I am saying is that it would be an interesting feature BUT probably not particularly useful. I think I would prefer if you had some permanent auxilliary slots that could only be filled with auxilliary units from minor allied countries. Something like Finnish, Hungarian, Bulgarian, or Romanian units.

I think it would be cool if this was determined during the DLC so for instance in DLC 39 you would have 0 aux slots, DLC 40 again 0 aux slots, and then maybe in DLC 41 you could have 3.
