So, now what ? I'm in the latter period - post 1650-70? lists from D&G , C&C, WoR, T&T.

not many whacky armies in there!

surely something bizarre from C&C ?? some muslim cavalry army? Islamic Persians? could be colourful?

thanks
Simon

Eh?

You mean "The Rise of Firearms" 1570-1698?

If so it is Clash of Empires, not Colonies and Conquest.

I seem to recall a very nice looking Bavarian army being up for sale recently. That would have fitted nicely...

Are you going to paint/sell more of them or other late period's army ?

i tend to use it once and sell. I suspect the next iteration will be Austrian with Bavarian Allies, which will be slightly better. But not in time for October as the figures won't be ready

The New Army for Derby, has now become a New Army for Oxford. Its some rather drole 30yr war army. The figures are ordered... the only question I have is go for Later Tercios or regular pike and shot units. I've never had a Tercio before, so that appeals?

For Average the additonal cost is 22 points for 3 extra bases, and effect on autobreak seems better value 2 bases additional. Not forgetting the flank stuff ... seems reasonable.

are they any good?

They take a LOT fewer tests from shooting.

Actually it is only 1 additional base for auto break.

I am also painting an army up for Derby. 5 BGs done so far in just over 2 weeks. Amazing for me. It helps that I have reduced my working week as from last month.
