Not a chance (and it won't be in date order, the time period is too tight to need that).

Or on Friday too - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-21063003 - The Met Office has a "red" (do not travel) warning in place and seem to be forecasting a foot of snow on Friday around the general area of Usk, and another 1-4 inches on Saturday.

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weat ... ionName=wl

Issued at: 1230 on Thu 17 Jan 2013
Valid from: 0300 on Fri 18 Jan 2013
Valid to: 2100 on Fri 18 Jan 2013

A band of snow, heavy in places, will spread northeastwards across Wales and the southwestern half of England, during Friday morning, lasting through the afternoon and evening across much of Wales, the Midlands, southern and parts of southeast England. Winds will strengthen, leading to drifting of lying snow.

Many parts of the Red Warning area are likely to have 20-30 cm of snow with strong southeasterly winds causing blizzards, severe drifting of lying snow and thus severe disruption. The public should avoid all non-essential journeys.

Elsewhere, accumulations of more than 5-10 cm of snow will occur quite widely, with 15 cm in some western parts of the Amber area, falling within 3-6 hours. The public should be prepared for disruption, including altering travel plans

Well it was a bit disconcerting to discover that we are close to the epicentre of the snow. However, I think we are probably just outside the red alert area, and the snow will be worse to the west of Usk than in Usk and points east. We always get less snow here than in Abergavenny for example, as we are at a lower altitude.

People are welcome to ring me at home: 01291 672496 if you aren't going to make it. Not much point in ringing me for travel information, however, I will only see Usk itself.

I will probably start round 1 a bit later than planned, and anyone who makes it after that can have a bye for the first round.

The Met Office's red warning for snow, which is unusual and means all non-essential travel should be avoided, applies to the south-eastern side of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains until 21:00 GMT on Friday.
Note that this does NOT include Usk. Although it is snowing here.

M50 is closed between Jct 4 & 3 at present. Snow heavy here (20 miles north of Black Mountains) and took me an hour to go 15 miles in a 4 wheel drive.....see if it clears later...
