A quick reminder to all that if you are intending to come to Warfare (and why wouldn’t you?

) ) you need to get your entry in quick as the price goes up from £15 now, to £20 from the 5th of October. As much as I love WAR, I hope to save you all the extra fiver.

)
Just for clarification, you don’t need to have you list in with your entry (but the earlier the better!)
Entries should please be made via the club website (
http://www.wargamesassociationreading.co.uk/), where you click on the “Warfare Competitions” tab on the left, then from there on the “Warfare Competitions payment sheet” tab on the right and you can enter and pay online. It’s a remarkably painless way of parting with £15…

URGENT - ENTRIES BEING CAPPED

I have just had some unexpected news about competition entries for this year's Warfare. For reasons beyond my control we are having to cap the numbers of
entries.
For FOG:N the limit is 10. We currently have 9. That means that we only have 1 place left and if you are intending to enter you need to do so *now*.
I don't know why this reduction in numbers is being imposed suddenly, I was given no notice at all - the organiser who told me was sounding pretty cheesed-off. However, we are where we are and all I can do is pass the message on urgently.

to all the rest flooding in.

I am list-hunting. Does anyone have an email address for Nigel Poole?
I should have, as he came to Warfare last year, but it seems to have vanished from my records.

Tim - Nigel is not on email or the internet.
I've just received his list via the normal convoluted route and have copied you on my reply. (His list has errors!)

A revised version is with our webmaster, but for those who look right now you will see a couple of blanks next to the two Nigels.
- Nigel Poole is using Prussian Army Autumn 1813
Nigel Emsen will be French Imperial Guard Autumn 1814
Enjoy! I am looking forward to seeing all those lovely uniforms out on the table.

OK, you changed it and I forgot to update here...

It is one of those French ToN lists. How much difference can there be?!

Warfare - Parking

As for the past few years, parking at the Rivermead is Pay and Display. IIRC (which I might not...) it is £5 all day on Saturday, and £2 or £3 on Sunday. The machines only accept coins, not notes (unless they have upgraded them since last year!)
You can reclaim *half* of this parking charge from the Rivermead centre reception but only on the same day as the parking (i.e. you can't get Saturday's parking charge half-refunded on Sunday). You will need to show the staff on Reception your parking receipt and your entry badge so that they know you are with the show.
Cheers,
Tim

Are the final positions up any where please?

They are up on the WAR website, but have been cut up and are difficult to read. I would like to paste my Excel spreadsheet version into this post, but the format won't come out so all I get is a string of numbers beside each name, which is if anything harder to read.

I am not allowed to uploaded an .xlsx file.
Help?!

Sorry guys - my fault that Nigel won.
I taught him all about flank marches when defeating him in the first game.....He then used one himself in every game thereafter with great success.
It was nice to see the Ottoman army doing so well, although I would claim to be somewhat unlucky in losing to it in the 2nd game.
The accolades must go to the single unit of impetuous light cavalry (Sipahis?), which when ordered NOT to charge decided they knew better (failed their CMT) destroying 2 units, wavering another and carved a hole in my line a foot wide - I never recovered.

Nigel didnt use a flank march against me... He just swallowed my attacks.... Oh hum... But i did getto beat up his mounted

.
Also i think our pointing wasnt quite right... He would still have pipped lance on count back anyway...
By next spring i might even have got my other lancer units painted ....
